FATAL MARYLAND CAR ACCIDENT
Four people were riding in a vehicle that crashed in Maryland. The driver and one passenger were from New York. Two passengers, a man and a child, were from North Carolina. The New York man driving the car survived the crash, as did the child and the man from North Carolina. A woman from New York was killed.Deadly Morning Commute
According to reports from the Maryland Highway Patrol, all four were in a 2004 Saab. The license plate was from New York. They were driving down I-95 at around 6:30 in the morning, heading south. Then, for reasons that haven't been determined, the Saab left the roadway, went through an opening in the guardrail on the right side of the road, drove through the grass, and then hit a tree.Vehicle flips over and catches on fire
When it hit the tree, the vehicle flipped over and caught on fire, all while people were trapped inside. A Maryland State police officer responded and put out the fire. Emergency workers were then able to get the two people who were still trapped out of the vehicle.Two trapped in burning vehicle
The man and child from North Carolina were airlifted from the scene and taken to Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital. An ambulance took the New York man who was driving to Delaware's Christiana Hospital. Rescue workers announced that the woman had already passed away at the accident scene.In just seconds, a normal morning commute can turn deadly. For those who are injured and the families of those who are killed, medical costs can mount quickly. Wages can be lost. Funeral costs may be put on grieving family members. For all of this and more, it's important for people to know if they have a right to financial compensation.
