Car Accidents in Maryland

Every month, around 10,000 people are harmed in auto wrecks in the state of Maryland. These incidents leave victims with painful injuries that often require medical care. Victims are often harmed in crashes as a result of negligent drivers. Many crashes are caused by:

Drivers who are intoxicated: Nearly 20% of accidents across the nation involve drivers who are under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol can make it difficult for drivers to maintain control over their vehicles. As a result, they have problems stopping in time to avoid crashes.

Distractions: One of the top three causes of crashes in our state is distractions. We see many accidents caused by motorists who are using their phones or distracted by other means while operating their vehicles.

Reckless driving: A lot of crashes are a result of motorists who run red lights, fail to yield the right of way to other drivers, and people who speed. These and other reckless driving actions cause crashes daily in Montgomery County and across the entire state.
