Car Accidents in Maryland
More than 100,000 people are hurt in auto wrecks across Maryland every year. Quite often, these incidents can be contributed to some type of negligence. Some of the most common contributors to auto accidents that we see include:Impaired Drivers: More than 30% of fatal accidents in our state are caused by drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs. These drivers account for a significant number of injury crashes every year as well.
Drivers Distracted: A lot of auto accidents that take place in our state are caused by distraction. When people talk on their phones or text, change their radios, or chat with others in the vehicle, they take their attention off the road ahead. As a result, accidents occur.
Drivers who are Reckless: People who speed, change lanes in a reckless manner, and fail to yield to others often cause life-changing crashes. People who are reckless disregard the safety of others.
Driving while Tired: People need to be awake and alert while operating their vehicles. When drivers are too tired, they are often unable to concentrate and focus on the road ahead. As a result, many people end up getting hurt as a result of drivers falling asleep or dozing off behind the wheel.
If you were hurt in a motor vehicle crash as a result of these or other acts of negligence, you may be able to seek compensation from the at-fault driver. Reaching out to a Silver Spring car accident lawyer right away can help you get justice.
