Hagerstown, MD – Injury Accident Reported near Exit 2 on I-81
Hagerstown, MD (March 7, 2022) – A drunk-driving accident ended in injuries on Sunday morning, March 6. At around 3 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was called to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Interstate 81 near exit 2.
Investigations of the crash show that a white 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a red 2008 Dodge Caliber sedan collided on the interstate near exit 2. Police arrived at the scene to find the Ram attempting to leave the scene. The police chased after the vehicle briefly and pulled them over on the ramp to Interstate 71 from Interstate 81. Two men were inside the vehicle.
The driver of the Dodge, a 27-year-old male from Virginia, was arrested for DUI.
Two people in the Dodge Caliber, the 25-year-old driver from Pennsylvania and her 20-year-old stepsister, were both transported to local hospitals. A 33-year-old from Pennsylvania, who was the front-seat passenger and the boyfriend of the driver, was rushed to Shock Trauma for care.
The incident is currently being investigated by WCSO.
