Car Accidents in Maryland
In Maryland, we see many car accidents take place as a result of drivers who engage in reckless actions while operating their vehicles. Some of the most common factors contributing to our state’s annually 120,000 car accidents include:Driving while impaired: Drunk driving is highly illegal. However, we continue to see thousands of accidents take place as a result of drivers who drink and enter roadways. These drivers often have a difficult time maneuvering their cars in a responsible manner. As a result, they cause crashes at record rates.
Driving while distracted: We see many people hurt in accidents due to drivers who are texting or talking on their phones. Using a phone or being distracted by another object, person, or task can divert a driver’s attention from the roadway. Even a second of inattention can result in a severe collision.
Speeding: Speeding is one of the most common factors in crashes across our state. Drivers who travel above the posted speed limit have a difficult time maintaining control of their vehicles. Adding inclement weather, traffic jams, and other road hazards to the mix, an accident is most likely to take place.
If you were hurt as a result of a crash caused by these or other negligent acts, you may have legal options available for you. Contact our car accident lawyers in Silver Spring right away for a free consultation.
