Bethesda, MD – Child Among three Hurt in Pedestrian Crash on Grosvenor Ln & King Charles Way
Bethesda, MD (April 7, 2022) – A major pedestrian crash involving multiple victims occurred on Wednesday in Montgomery County, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
At around 8:22 a.m., on April 6, the police and firefighters received an emergency alert regarding a collision on Grosvenor Lane.
Reports from the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services and the 2nd District Officers show that a man was with his 7-year-old son and 18-month old toddler at the intersection of Grosvenor Lane and King Charles Way. The three pedestrians were waiting for a bus with the Public Schools of Montgomery County to arrive.
At the same time, a gold 2002 Honda Accord was traveling west on King Charles Way when the vehicle went off the road and struck the three victims. The Honda then entered back into the road and crossed both lanes before leaving the road again. The driver of the Honda, an adult male, remained on-site to speak with police.
The infant child sustained no injuries in the crash. The father and the older child were both rushed to a nearby hospital. The young child remains in critical condition.
Currently, the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating the crash.
Our thoughts are with the father and child who were both injured in this pedestrian crash.
Pedestrian Accidents in Maryland
Being harmed in a pedestrian crash means that you will most likely deal with towering medical expenses. Having to overcome painful and debilitating injuries can be incredibly overwhelming, to begin with. Having to decide whether you will get medical care or take care of another expense is not something we should have to do. Especially in cases where people are harmed as a result of other drivers. When young children are harmed in pedestrian crashes, it can be incredibly challenging for victims to console them. Helping them understand what happened and watching them struggle is truly not something that any parent wants to endure. When victims are harmed in accidents as a result of negligent drivers, it only makes sense that they would take the legal options necessary to get some sense of justice.
Although a personal injury lawsuit cannot undo the pain and suffering that victims and their families face, it can help them to cover the costs of care and other expenses they face. If you have been injured in an accident, it is important that you reach out to a pedestrian accident lawyer in Bethesda as soon as possible.
