Mechanicsville, MD – Seven Hurt in FedEx Van Crash with SUV on Lockes Hill Rd near Three Notch Rd
Mechanicsville, MD (May 1, 2022) – A crash involving a FedEx cargo van sent several people, including multiple children, to local hospitals with injuries on Saturday. Just before 8:30 p.m., on April 30, the police responded to a major wreck on Lockes Hills Road near Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville.
The police and 20 firefighters from Hollywood, Mechanicsville, and Hughesville responded to find an SUV and a FedEx cargo van blocking the intersection after a collision. The red SUV rolled over and landed on its roof.
Multiple people were trapped in their vehicles. Firefighters spent around 15-minutes extricating two people. Maryland State Police Helicopters were called to the site. A total of four pediatric patients were flown to Children’s hospitals.
Three other people were transported to local hospitals by ambulance for treatment.
The Maryland State Police and St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office are conducting investigations into the crash alongside Maryland State Highway Administration.
