Silver Spring, MD – Crash on I-495 near Linden Lane Overpass Leaves Two with Traumatic Injuries
Silver Spring, MD (May 22, 2022) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in the Silver Spring area on Saturday evening left two people with severe injuries. At around 7 p.m., on May 21, the Maryland State Police and firefighters were dispatched to the site of a major collision that blocked the outer loops of Interstate 495.
Reports provided by the police indicate that a red sedan was traveling on the outer loop of the Beltway when a loose tire struck the vehicle near the Linden Lane overpass. The impact of the crash caused the sedan to crash into a cement barrier.
Two people inside the sedan sustained severe traumatic injuries as a result of the accident. The victims were both rushed by Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services EMS to area hospitals for emergency medical attention.
The police and firefighters remained at the scene for an extended period as they worked to investigate. An investigation surrounding the crash is ongoing.
