Clarksburg, MD – Truck Accident on I-270 near Route 109 (Old Hundred Rd) Ends in Injuries
Clarksburg, MD (May 23, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident took place in the Clarksburg area on Sunday afternoon that ended in injuries. Just after 3:10 p.m., on May 22, the Montgomery County Police Department and firefighters were dispatched to an automobile accident on Interstate 270.
Reports provided by authorities show that a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck tractor-trailer collided on the southbound side of the interstate. The crash caused delays in the area of Route 109, Old Hundred Road.
The involved passenger vehicle caught on fire immediately after the crash, prompting firefighters to secure the area as they battled the blaze. Police and firefighters spent an extended time at the scene of the accident.
One EMS unit with the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services responded to the scene to render aid to victims and transport those in need of further treatment to local hospitals.
The Montgomery County police are investigating the crash.
