Bethesda, MD – Fatal Bicycle Crash Reported on Old Georgetown Rd near Cheshire Dr

Bethesda, MD (June 2, 2022) – A major crash reported in the Bethesda area left one person with fatal injuries. At around 4:10 p.m., on June 1, the Montgomery County Police Department and Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services responded to the scene of a crash on Old Georgetown Road.

According to reports from MCPD, a bicyclist was riding in the 10200 block of Old Georgetown Road during the early evening hours. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a vehicle near Cheshire Drive.

The bicyclist suffered traumatic injuries due to the crash. They were rendered aid at the scene. However, authorities confirmed that they passed away due to their injuries.

At this time, MCPD is investigating the crash.
